Treasured Historic Hotel in the Redwoods
“Warm and friendly staff. Fantastic food and drink. Beautiful views in a cozy quiet setting.
It is central to the most beautiful areas in West Sonoma County. Near the coast but tucked into its own redwood valley. The Village Inn is unique for its peaceful and timeless setting. It is elegant without any hype or pretense. The restaurant and bar are a great destination in themselves, and you have the feeling of belonging while you stay over. Many locals love to get away to the Village Inn and that really speaks to the great value and enjoyment it provides.” -- Expedia
“Enjoyed our 15th anniversary dinner here recently and it was superb. The service and food was fantastic and I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!” – Open Table
The Inn Represents One of My Favorite Places
“I have stayed at the Inn several times now and each time it has been a wonderful experience. The staff is always looking after and spoiling guests in the way we guests like to be spoiled. They are (and this is important for me) pet friendly but you could never tell that by the spotless (free of any pet odor) rooms. The coast (Jenner) is only a short drive away if you like exploring the beautiful beaches of Northern California. The setting on the Russian River is amazing and many rooms have a river front view. The restaurant (and bar) is great and has a nice sized deck for perfect any meal outside dining. The Inn represents one of my favorite places for a long weekend of comfort, relaxation and good food. Try it, and you will be back.” – Google

Hidden Treasure in the Redwoods
“We stumbled onto this enchanting Inn and had a wonderful experience. The rooms, gardens, and entire property is absolutely charming, obviously decorated and cared for with a loving touch. Beautiful gardens, comfortable rooms, warm and friendly innkeepers, giant redwoods right outside our window, cozy nook for continental breakfast, what more could you ask?” – Trip Advisor
What a Lucky Dinner Stop!
“What a lucky dinner stop! On my return from hiking at Goat Rock Beach, I stumbled upon the Village Inn just as the sun was dipping below the tree line. I had a scrumptious "catch of the day" -- sole with mushroom risotto and fresh green beans. Beside excellent food, the Inn is set high above the Russian River, with stellar views of the other side of the valley. Redwoods trees are dinner companions if you sit out on the deck as I did. The service was friendly and efficient and the Inn itself looks like comfortable old world charm. It's a tad off the beaten path and well worth the effort to make your way to find it.” – Yelp
Lovely Weekend Getaway
“We attended a wedding in Monte Rio and stayed across the river at the Village Inn. The rooms are cozy and well kept. The grounds peaceful and beautiful. The innkeepers attentive. We look forward to a reason to return to Monte Rio and another stay at the Village Inn.” – Trip Advisor
Amazing Experience! Thank you, all!
“This was THE most beautiful place. Pure magic. Our room was cozy and immaculate and the view was pure bliss. The River was right in front of us and having a glass of wine on the lawn before dinner was truly an event -- very peaceful, restful, with plenty of charm to spare!
Also, we did some great wine tasting at small wineries tucked along the Russian River.
Our entire experience was perfect.” – Trip Advisor
This Place is Awesome
“This place is awesome. We went for Dad's 90th Birthday dinner with family and were treated like royalty…the views are stunning and some great photos were taken. Dad was so pleased and we will never forget the welcoming hospitality that Mark and his staff provided. I HIGHLY recommend giving it a try.” – Yelp
Now a Village Inn Fan!
“Long-time Monte Rio fan (came for many summers as a teen) and now a Village Inn fan! My guy and I stayed in a most awesome suite on the river-beautiful view and lots of wildlife sightings. The food at the restaurant is fabulous. The chef is creative and her food rivals any. I will be back soon and can't wait to eat there as well. Mark is a most gracious host and very sweet.” – Google
Lovely and Relaxing
“The proprietor and staff are absolutely wonderful and welcoming to everyone that comes in the door. My husband and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary at this restaurant and they made us feel extra special by being extra attentive. This is a nice cozy restaurant with regulars and locals coming in. We enjoyed meeting and talking with other folks while at the bar. We were put in a nice quiet area with a nice view and had a lovely meal.” – Open Table
“My wife and I walked from our rental (Katherine's Place - Highly recommended) and enjoyed a nice evening. The service was nice, friendly and efficient, felt like a B&B and comfy. Our evening of dinner for two was complemented by a nice a bottle of J Pinot Noir. The beef stew (homemade and perfect on a cold chilly night) was very good. My wife's salad was plentiful and fresh. Our main courses of Petrale sole (side dishes of homemade Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts) and Pork Shank were very good. Portions could be smaller to be honest. The dessert was great - Maple Bourbon Cheesecake, with a cappuccino perfectly made. I rate based on the price, service, atmosphere and food quality. For the price, reasonable, we had a great night. Anyone staying in the area would be pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere (including the fireplace and view of the river), the service, and food. Well done!” – Yelp
