Executive Chef William Oliver was born in Maryland and grew up in New England. As early as 8 years old he knew he was to become a local farm-driven, flavor-profile focused chef. His life long journey started with mentor chef Paul Milne in Maryland. Completing curriculums at the CIA in Hyde Park and Elon College in North Carolina, Chef Oliver focused on learning wine by moving to Northern California in early 1998. Working with accredited chefs Joachim Splichal, Cindy Pawlcyn, and Jude Wilmoth helped form Oliver's California wine country culinary focus.
He created successful food and beverage programs at Arista, Mayo Family and Clos Pegase wineries in Sonoma and Napa counties. Chef Oliver joins the Village Inn after successful sojourns as Executive Inn Chef at the Farmhouse Inn in Forestville, Chef de Cuisine at Cook St. Helena in the Napa Valley and most recently Executive Chef at the Timber Cove Inn on the Sonoma Coast.
"My natural draw has always been the highly prized AVA of Russian River. Sourcing from its natural abundance has been the key in creating the very best dishes possible." William, we couldn't agree more!
